Merienda time at Jolliant

I was in ParaƱaque the other day visiting my friend. He lived in Moonwalk Village and we went for a walk around the village. When afternoon came, we got so hungry and unfortunately, there were no available eateries nor carinderias nearby and we knew we couldn't wait to go back to his home to eat, so we searched around a bit more and finally we found a place we could eat merienda. The name of the place was Jolliant and although the sign said they were a grill and resto, they simply looked like a simple fast food eatery.

The place was nice and clean although a little small. We sat down, browsed through their menu for what we could order. The food choices were okay, offering Filipino favorites like chicken barbecue, sisig, crispy pata and they also had rice toppings like beef tapa and pork tocino. The prices of the food on their menu was evenly distributed.

The price ranged from 200 pesos above for big orders to 49 pesos for their rice toppings. since we really didn't want to spend to much on a place we just discovered, we tried the least expensive food on the menu, the rice toppings. As we ordered, we noticed the staff was polite, taking our orders with a smile and in no time, the food was brought to our table.

I ordered Liempo rice topping while my friend ordered the chili con carne. The food was okay, considering it was only 49 pesos, it wasn't that great. We could tell it wasn't freshly cooked and it seemed like it was only heated through a microwave oven. Still it was enough to satisfy our hunger.

Although the ambiance of the place and the service of the staff were good, the taste of their food didn't really make an impact on us. I'm not saying that it was a bad experience but there's always room for improvement and for jolliant to improve their customer services they should try improve their menu to appeal to more customers.
